Moodle – Course Management System
The backbone of how students interact with professors and course materials within UGSM-Monarch is provided by the Moodle CMS, course management system. Microsoft – Live@edu
UGSM-Monarch Business School has adopted the Microsoft “Live@edu” platform. “Live@edu” is the preferred suite of applications and email connectivity used by the largest universities world-wide, including: the University of Sydney, Washington State, The University of Cincinnati, University of Ulster, The University of South Africa, University of Queensland, Ohio State, University of New South Wales, University of Pennsylvania, University of South Carolina, University of Canberra, University of Canterbury amongst many more.
Live@edu is an ultimate suite of applications – mobile, desktop and web-based – to help you collaborate on campus and create a community that lasts a lifetime. And it’s all accessible on Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile devices. Students and Administrators at Monarch can now enjoy: shared calendars, 10 GB Outlook Mailbox including push email to mobile, 25 GB Online Storage with Skydrive, Windows Live Alerts, Windows Live Photos, Messenger Video Chat and Office Live Workspace
JStor – Digital Journal Storage Library
The quality in which students complete research is dependent on their ability to have access to the leading journals and academic resources. UGSM-Monarch uses the repository of JStor, the recognized industry leader for scholarly access to past journals publication. All UGSM-Monarch students can remotely access the JStor library in order to benefit from quick access to the world’s leading information. JStor is a not–for–profit service that helps scholars, researchers, and students discover, use, and build upon a wide range of content in a trusted digital archive of over one thousand academic journals and other scholarly content. It uses information technology and tools to increase productivity and facilitate new forms of scholarship.
NVIVO9 – Qualitative Research Software
UGSM-Monarch uses NVIVO9 as a the default qualitative research software for dissertation and thesis work. NVIVO is the industry standard for qualitative analysis of varying types of data: academic research, health research, human resources and product development. Used by some of the most respected universities and agencies in the world including: Yale University, World Vision Australia, the UK Policy Studies Institute.
WUALA – Digital Information Storage
UGSM-Monarch uses Swiss Made data storage software developed at ETH-Zurich, The Federal Institute of Technology. The technology includes Bank grade encryption to ensure the privacy of all student information on record.
