Dr. Donald Oxford York, D.Phil.
Professor of Leadership Studies
Dr. Donald Oxford York holds the position of Professor of Leadership Studies at UGSM-Monarch Business School. He also holds the position of Director of MCRL-Monarch Center for Research On Leadership. Professionally, he has worked in several hospitals within the Montreal area as a critical care technician within operating rooms and emergency wards where he has been directly responsible for the life support of patients. Dr. York is an active health care professional instructor holding numerous certifications as well as holding the position of Fellow of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. He currently teaches Critical Care and Life Support procedures to new M.D.s during their residency periods.
Professor York holds a D.Phil. in Business Research degree from UGSM-Monarch Business School where he also earned a Master of Philosophy in Business Research with Distinction. He also holds a B.A. in Behavioral Neuropsychology from McGill University in Montreal. He is presently completing a MBA degree from SMC University as well as a Diploma of Health Care Management from McGill University. His areas of interest revolve around Health Care Administration and Leadership.
Beyond the academic realm, Dr. York has been an active professor of physical education and self-defense studies with The International Budo Institute where he holds the position of Chief Technical Director for North America. In this capacity he has taught personal development and leadership skills to hundreds of students of various ages.
