Dr. Bystrov holds the position of an adjunct professor of Economics at UGSM-Monarch Business School. He also holds the position of associate professor at his home university – Saint-Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics. The duration of his academic career exceeds 10 years.

Dr. Bystrov has always combined teaching and business or administrative positions resulting in a vivid cocktail of theoretical knowledge and real life business experience. He held different positions, mainly in consulting and marketing, in a broad range of industries, worked with companies and organizations of different sizes and property structure and also posses some entrepreneurial experience. His international involvement is proved by 4-year successful service as a vice-rector responsible for international relations at his home university.

After earning his PhD degree he widened his research experience with applied research and consultation projects. Projects which he has been involved, include: development of monitoring instruments for strategic evaluation and control of public investment, development of an evaluation approach to state funded infrastructural projects, business unit strategy development and improvement of business process of an industrial company.
