Dr. Hoelscher holds the position of Professor of Organizational Behaviour & Management at UGSM Monarch Business School. He is also a faculty member of the University of Phoenix in both the Online campus and at the four locations of the University of Phoenix in the Chicago area.  Dr. Hoelscher earned his Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s degree in business from Northwood University in Michigan. He currently teaches management courses in both the graduate and doctoral programs at the University of Phoenix.

Dr. Hoelscher served for almost 40 years in the U.S. Reserve Forces including duty in the U.S. Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Illinois Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserve. This included 10 years of active duty. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2004 in the grade of Colonel. During his long and honorable career, he gained experience in a variety of fields including transportation, logistics, security clearance adjudication, personnel and accounting and finance. His civilian career encompassed almost 40 years in the consumer and mortgage lending business and included establishing three mortgage origination entrepreneurial startups in the Chicago area. During this career, he served as Vice President of the consumer-lending department of one of the largest Savings and Loans in Illinois and was partial owner and Chief Executive Officer of a mortgage originator that provided the largest volume of loan product to the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) in their second mortgage loan program.

Dr. Hoelscher re-entered academics at the end of his mortgage lending and military careers. He is an enthusiastic educator who actively engages students, challenging them to think beyond traditional methods. He teaches a variety of courses in all management disciplines and has research interests in business ethics primarily in the mortgage industry. Dr. Hoelscher follows the wise words of the the Spanish philosopher/poet Miguel de Cervantes:
