Professor Tabea Hirzel stays close to politics and social life in Switzerland where she obtained a Business Diploma from KLZ Business School Zurich in 2001 after working 7 years in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry. Fascinated by the multiple facets of rural economies she worked in Spain for an International Real Estate and Construction Business as Director of Finance and Human Resources. In 2004 she received her M.B.A. from University Uniactiva and EAE Business School, Barcelona.

In the same year she moved on to Spain’s largest wine producing area in New Castile where started her own advisory company, designing strategic business and marketing processes for viticulture companies of the area. In 2005 she was honoured for her efforts by the IDEA Business Award from the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha (Council of Castilla-La Mancha). Two years later she was hired as Marketing Director for Europe largest wine producer, Virgen de las Viña, SCV. She specialized in business negotiations and agricultural trade with Eastern European, Russian and Far Eastern markets. She is deeply involved in agricultural politics, cooperative business structures and international food trade.

Since 2009 Professor Hirzel remains in Zurich where she currently developes her doctoral thesis in Diplomacy at the SMC University. She was also been the Secretary to the Chairman of VENT 2009 Conference at the ETH, The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. Professor Hirzel is founder of Sampo Consulting Group, Zurich an advisory company for Companies in Advanced Applied Science.
