Academic Doctorates
Academic Doctorates are specifically designed to provide candidates with the rigours of academic training in order to prepare them for a career in academics or similar environments. The academic doctorates at Monarch use the Doctor of Philosophy title (“D.Phil.”) similar to the English system at Cambridge and Oxford. This is due to the fact that the design of the Thesis-only academic doctorate is based on the historical design of both the English and continental Doctoral degrees. The D.Phil. designation is equivalent to the Ph.D. award.
Academic doctorates are typically geared to the younger student (25-35) who has graduate research experience either in a M.Phil. or related degree and who may not have the significant managerial experience of their professional counterparts. The academic doctorate may also be followed by seasoned professionals who either wish to follow a strictly academic training or who desire to move into a teaching career upon graduation.
The academic doctorate at Monarch Business School Switzerland may also be combined as a dual degree with the Ph.D. in Administration from our University partner, Universidad Azteca.
