Academic Research Doctorates

Academic Research Doctorates are specifically designed to provide candidates with the rigours of academic training in order to prepare them for a career in academics or similar environments. The academic doctorates at Monarch use the Doctor of Philosophy title (“D.Phil.”) similar to the English system at Cambridge and Oxford. This is due to the fact that the design of the Thesis-only academic doctorate is based on the historical design of both the English and continental Doctoral degrees. The D.Phil. designation is equivalent to the Ph.D. award.
